We're starting this blog off with some images of one of our recent and more creative projects. Toby McFarland Pond is an English commercial photographer working in New York. He makes truly striking still life images of stuff we would really like to have - from jewels to fine drink, and photographs the type of beautiful people who would be welcome to stop by for a bindery tour anytime.
Toby's book is a promo piece / leave behind. He called and said he had a soft cover book at his office with a cloth dust jacket and a plain cover. We'd never done a cloth dust jacket, and weren't sure that it would stay on a softcover book. After a few emails, he sent us his book and we looked it over to see if we could replicate it. Once we saw it, we knew it would be an interesting addition to our product line.
In the end, we thought the prints were fantastic, the size felt good in the hands, and the foil stamped dust jacket is really cool - the kind of thing you wont find at our online book making competition.
Book Details: 9x6.5 Soft Cover. 100 color pages. 162 gsm interior paper, with 270 gsm uncoated white cover. Custom cloth covered dust jacket with white front side foil stamp.
